I use Mate for the sake of its simplicity, such as an Lxqt or its predecessor Lxde.
Gnome I see it too bloated and already the latest versions do not like me much.
Kde with Plasma advanced a lot and does not eat resources like before, his people worked a lot and achieved a lot.
Regarding Budgie, I never gave him a chance, I will when I can.
I also think it would be nice to have Xfce or OpenBox, but of course, this is just a comment and I know it would be a lot more work for developers, just thinking out loud. 🙂
