WetGeek I use Budgie and have no problems with screen tearing, skipped frames or freezing of video. One of my laptops has... 2GB of RAM. I can plug it in to my TV and use streaming services in 720p. That wasn't the case with many so called light weight distros.

I guess I should have mentioned that MATE on my media server is straight-out-of-the-box. No searching for solutions, no installing extra drivers, no creating/modifying .cfg files. It just works perfectly as-is. And that's with a 4K Ultra HD TV.

I think it's great that we can all have our own favorites, for whatever purposes we use them. I just happen to have two favorites.

I love Budgie but since fractional scaling is better (on a Full HD laptop) I also love using Plasma 🙂
Now I am dreaming about an Enlightenment Solus edition... 😉

Budgie is my second favourite linux desktop after epiphany. I just couldn't get around not having the day, date and time. It is a close second at that. I much prefer how Budgie handles workspaces.

Budgie for me. Coming to the source. Otherwise I'm JWM all the way on my main distros.
Plus today I finally got grun tied to "Alt-F2" so that ANY executable can be run without having to search through menus or write a .desktop file.
My favorite file manager app, vfu (version 4.19) runs great on it with its own image viewer, qvv.
Given how often I mess things up tinkering around, I appreciate Solus' stability to be able to fall back on it if... or more likely "when" I will need to.
