davidjharder Thanks for the clarification. Yes, that is german. We like to combine severval words to one with dashes a lot.
By the way, all german translators here work on German (Austria) (de_AT). Which is fine, doesn't make any difference for our translation purposes here.
Just make sure that all people with any kind of german locale get the same translation,
like German (Germany) (de_DE) and what else there might be.

davidjharder "Packagekit" is a name so it should not be translated, I think "Packagekit-Update-Fehler" is fine, as long as a German speaker (I assume this is German) would understand that "Packagekit" is the name of the thing giving the error.

Yes, the German speakers understand it very well.

Cheers!

Any chance translators can run this tool bare-metal on a spare hard drive or in a VM for final check of translations before release?

Sebastian It's landed in unstable now so if you have a MATE install or wish to setup a Solus 4.4 MATE vm you can

      1. I installed Mate-4.4 on gnome-boxes.
      2. I changed the repo to unstable.
      3. I updated.
      4. I installed solus-mate-transition-tool
      5. I launched SMTT and installed XFCE.
      6. I logged out and logged in to the XFCE session.
      7. I launched SMTT and removed Mate.

      Conclusions.

      1. Everything went without errors.
      2. The translation into my language seems to be error-free.
      3. However, I wonder whether the Remove Mate function should also remove mate packages that are in /var:

@pomon Thanks for testing the tool.

Those files are in the eopkg cache, those should be fine to leave. The goal is not to make it impossible to get mate packages (at least not for a long time) The mate packages will still be available in the repository for a while after we release the tool.

pomon Thanks for testing! Did you get a prompt to reboot automatically after XFCE was installed?

From "I logged out and logged in to the XFCE session." I looks like you didn't.

@Sebastian did not get a prompt to reboot after XFCE was installed either if that is the case. I haven't been able to replicate so far, even on a fresh install.

It seemed to me that he had previously asked to be logged out. I don't remember correctly, so I did it again. It asks for a restart.

        Translation Update

The SMTT translation project now has 29 requested languages/locales. ~20 are completed or nearly complete. Thanks to everyone who volunteered!

If you speak Dutch (nl), Finnish (fi), or Italian (it-IT) I need your help to translate one last string and complete the language.
Similarly, one translator has completed more than half of Simplified Chinese (zh-Hans), it would be amazing if someone could complete the remaining 20 strings.

If you don't see your language/locale in the screenshots, and want to add it, or you want to work on an existing language/locale, please see the top post for how to join our translation team

@davidjharder I note that Belgium (Dutch) does not yet have any translators available. Feel free to add me to translate this. My account is MiVa. Thank you in advance.
