The network indicator in Budgie 10.8 is now huge and the other indicators have not changed size compared to 10.7. Is it supposed to be like this?

Silversurfer Icons for Variety and Proton vpn do not show correctly in the tray bar. Only a white square.

Could you add a screenshot? I have a same issuer with Tauon music player flatpak:

penny-farthing One comment though: @EbonJaeger had published a post on April 25 to suggest installing the budgie-user-indicator-redux-applet for users who prefer a more classic approach

Yes, I prefer budgie-user-indicator-redux applet! And I can hide some items in its settings like hibernate bcs I never use it.

tflovik the network indicator is an indicator in the system tray, which now scales icon sizes with the panel size. Some of the other applets don't have this. Yet.

Silversurfer the icon that the application specifies needs to exist in the icon theme or some form of recognizable fallback (many provide their own icon), otherwise GTK will render the not found image.

That said, the icon for Variety shows up fine for me. Did you install it from the Solus repository?

Variety installed from the repository, so is Proton Vpn! they both worked before I updated.. so something happened after that. And I had used my own icon in variety!!!!! So why does Proton vpn icon not work??

thank you for your excellent work..

Lately I get libsoup error messages while performing flatpak update, though not every time.

Bhibb I don't know. I wasn't following that issue closely, but my understanding was that it is a Budgie only issue, while I am running GNOME.

bubba66 Filed an issue on the Budgie Desktop tracker here. If you're on GitHub, you may want to follow that issue and chime in. 🙂

After today's sync I'm having issues with my bottom panel (Budgie). For years I've had the task list icons as 50x50 while the icons in the system tray were smaller, something like 32x32 if I had to guess. Now those two separate sets of icons, with different purposes are locked at the same size, and I can't keep the larger task list icons with the system tray icons remaining smaller. To me, personally, this makes no sense--the system tray icons being much smaller than the running application/task list icons makes more sense to me and I think it looks much better.

Is there any way I can force these two sets of icons to be different sizes again? I really, really do not like them being the same size (especially when not all of the applets over by the system tray scale similarly--but I would still dislike them being so large if they were consistent).
