Hum
Releases announcements should be sent first to them ? I don't think that they ping all distros' web site.
Solus 4.4 "Harmony" released

We have never sent them anything. They are an aggregator, they can aggregate just fine on their own, our RSS feeds are working there is nothing we can do it is on them.
EDIT:
A new version of a distribution was released, but it wasn't announced on DistroWatch. Why?
- We didn't know about the release. Although we try our best to traverse the Internet continuously in search for new distribution releases, we do miss some on occasion. In this case, please let us know about it - the preferred way is to simply e-mail us.

We will give them time to figure it out and email them if we are certain they have missed it.
Thanks ! lets hope it will be ok very soon
Hi guys, first of all congratulations on the new release. I saw this on the changelog "Dual-GPU support in Budgie Menu when launching applications" , does solus support hybrid mode on a amd integrated gpu / nvidia gpu ?
Thanks!

Thanks for providing that quote. I've shot off a polite e-mail to distrowatch from my @getsol.us address to ask how we might go about having Solus listed as Active again, along with links to the release blog post, the download page and the Release RSS feed.
Here's hoping it gets updated soon-ish.

DistroWatch status is now Active!

brent yeah, I've never cared for it outside of MXLinux. I hope the Solus implementation of XFCE is as polished and nice as that.

Brucehankins If I remember correctly distros like Xubuntu have partially used MATE apps at least in the past, so I'm eager to see what decisions will be made regarding the XFCE implementation.
Thanks to you for that great work.Long live the king Solus...
Mascaret Yeah, the installer needs work (or a replacement), but at this point it was more important to get the updated ISOs out instead of delaying them yet again.

I expect it will be. it's such an oddly fitting place (solus) for this distro. I look forward to it.

I am so happy that the new Isos are out. Thank you all so much!
The deprecation of Mate comes somehow unexpected, but I welcome it. Can`t put it in words, but Mate always feels just strange and not right to me. My personal preference would have been to replace Mate with Cinnamon, but I trust the judgement of the team. Am curious to see where things are going.
Sebastian Cinnamon has had even less work done on Wayland support than MATE has. It was a non-option.
What are the advantages of using Wayland vs X11 ecosystem?

^^ nothing discussed performance that I could see, if that's what you are asking. just that the industry is moving away from x11. See bolded sections called RHEL and MUTTER--they are very eye-opening about that aspect of moving away from it.
That's my take away. Others no doubt know more than I when it comes to performance.
JoshStrobl Thanks for the clarification, Josh. I dont know nothing about these technical aspects, thats why I fully trust the people who do know all these things (the team) to take the right decisions. It`s just that I like the way Cinnamon looks and behaves. But I understand that there are other things to consider than just the eye candy.
JoshStrobl where does XFCE stand against LXQt (or LWQt) as far as Wayland support?
