No. You absolutely do not need to read all channels. Support is well support requests so unless you are helping or need help ignore it, off-topic is irrelevant, I ignore it 90% of the time. I maintain there was nothing of importance that needed to be announced otherwise I would have said so in my prior post.

If you have FOMO because someone might "leak" the 4.4 release name in a Solus matrix channel, not as an announcement but as part of a discussion for the best way they should address something... too bad. We are not posting every thought / discussion we have on the forums.

I think many of us (or not) think weekly sync belongs here. I made my own list above about moss/immutable progress, and future plans/roadmaps belonging at Forums.
I don't think anyone is advocating for the exhausting minutia of tidbits of 3 channels of endless chatter, as interesting as it could be.
If you really want explicit details I'd personally say syncs and recent announcements belong here. The trend is the channels get that news first and doesn't always migrate here to Forums.

I read the announcements my opinion half those are not needed posts content wise.

We've been focusing most of our attention on getting the 4.4 ISO out the door. There needs to be a balance between enough outlets to let the Solus community get news in a way they prefer, without it being too much for our small team to keep up with. (This is most important in my book at the moment)

This is not meant at any disrespect for any you people its just an observation.
There seems to be a disconnect with the forum and thats what users are trying to voice and thats something
to be aware of.

Its a hard balance to work out but I think major announcements should always be posted in forum

I think they should be posted in the blog. It seems people gauge the distro's activity a lot based on that.

I believe that the Support channel should remain exclusively on Forum. Why? So all users can benefit and refer to it over time, using the handy search function. Matrix does not provide that.
A potential time delay (Matrix vs Forum) is not significant, since none us (with few exceptions) are glued to our screens anyway.

Off-Topic is ok on both Matrix and Forum, although again, more users would be involved if it too was kept on Forum only.

Development is for developers, so it is up to them if they want to stay on Matrix.

For me, low participating forum user, mainly lurker, I have no interest into the day to day nitty gritty that could be found on Matrix.

But I would appreciate a monthly state post. The crisis from the beginning of the year has left a bit of a trauma I would say. Even there is no particular milestone or statements to annonce just yet. Basically just to a canary post saying guys we're working. It might sounds stupid and insulting for the team, but from an outside perspective, someone who engages only on the forum/reddit level in the aforementionned list, it is not obvious. I know you don't do deadlines, that fine and fair. I would enjoy a 'guys we're excited and working' to be engaged if that makes sense.

I don't necessarily agree that a simple post on the forum is a waste of developers' time and energy, because a simple notice takes only a few seconds, using a computer that they're probably already sitting at. A simple "Update is ready now" would make it unnecessary for us to keep checking frequently for an update we're expecting. It could also be a shortcut that takes a single keypress for the person who released the sync to send, and that would cover most situations.

In the case where more information is available, a link could point to another location where that extra information already exists. Something like: Update information where those words are a link to the location. We use a browser to access the forum, and flarum makes inserting links very easy.

Remain? It has never been exclusive to the forums and that is not changing.

Axios it's an interesting perspective that I haven't thought of. At this point I've tried so many different distros and I barely look at the website, the forums, or any socials unless it has a chance to stick around. Then the first thing I check is the community. Is it full of people just saying "Go read the wiki" or "why even ask questions like that", because then it's not for me.
There have really only been 2 distros that I keep in my back pocket, MXLinux and EOS. I still lurk the forums there from time to time and keep up with the recent news and updates.
For me, it's important to see the community engaged, and updates coming from the devs, regardless of what channel it's on. This gives you the sense that things are in a healthy state.
Again, I think it would be great if the "news" could be posted to Mastodon/Twitter/Forums and maybe even a quick post section like the new Verge homepage. When I say news, I mean if the team deems a post to any social necessary or warranted, it should go to all platforms. But I also understand without some middleware or other application layer to integrate it means someone has to at the very minimum copy/paste and format multiple times across multiple platforms, and this may not be feasible.

I think with these things in mind over the long run will be good and They could say man Solus is the one you want they got there sh*t together. (But I think there could be some improvment just my opinion)

I hope so too, at least subliminally. I'm glad to learn in this thread there is a sizable bloc of users who have no (professional or otherwise) interest in Matrix-sifting for nuggets. I thought it was just me. Like you said, whatever the result, it will end up improving things.
