Super excited about the addition of an official Plasma spin. Really well done!
Solus 4.1 Released
Glad to see another version of Solus! Well done devs! Keep it up!

Girtablulu after adding the workplace switcher did you reboot?
No. I didn't realize it was required. I'll give that a try on my dev machine tomorrow.
I just tried it on my Plasma 4.1 VM, and it's back to the problem I had a while ago: adding workspaces actually adds that many groups of identical workspaces (same contents in each). Rebooting doesn't clear that up.
EDIT: For example, if I change the settings to provide 6 workspaces, I get 6 groups of 6 workspaces. Removing one workspace from one group removes it from all 6 groups. I thought this was fixed, so it may be a regression.
I don't really need the Plasma VM for anything, other than experimenting with it, so if it works correctly on the dev machine tomorrow, I'll be a happy camper.
Congrats guys for the new release.
The ppl at BigDaddyLinux will be going through Solus 4.1 in the upcoming 2 shows.
A very noob question, but can i install Plasma alongside Budgie just to try it out without breaking anything or reinstalling completely?
DNI_R i could be wrong but i believe they have said that that is not recommended. you could always play with the live usb
DNI_R
They were more specific, and they're right: "Don't install Plasma alongside other GTK-based desktop, it's evil."
Create as many 20G-sized partitions as you wish, and install any distro or DE into them. One partition - one DE. Independent DEs will never break one another.
So far so good on my side Congrats and f*ck deadlines
Today, Solus 4.1 installed, the flight is normal, everything is almost as expected - no problem. The laptop just flies, as expected.
One thing only interests - when will the "megasinΡ" application appear so as not to run from one OS to another for more convenient use in working with documents and the cloud?
Is there such an opportunity or not?
Hope to see soon - it's time...I think

Sergio1 MegaSYNC is never going to be supported, it is proprietary and non-redistributable. Any repo that ships it would be violating intellectual property and copyright law.
JoshStrobl yeah I understand, but the ones before the update felt like they had way more quality, also I'm loving Solus, it is the perfect Distro for me, I've tried so many others before this one, I really wanted to try Linux and when there was no hope Solus appeared, an actual miracle haha, keep up the amazing work, been using it since 2019.
Thanks guys, I love using budgie but am looking forward to trying out the new plasma on the spare hard drive.
jujey but the ones before the update felt like they had way more quality
I'm open to hearing what sort of themes you'd like us to go into that we haven't already overdone already (wallpapers of animals and flowers as examples).
i installed plasma on a spare drive, you know, just to test it out a bit before ill possibly put it on my nvme in the future and make it my daily driver
what crazy good plasma implementation, its so smooth(and wobbly!)
@Girtablulu has done an amazing job!
will be even better when this lands https://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2019/12/kde-gtk-csd-integrated
JoshStrobl If r/unixporn is anything to go by, Linux wallpapers are all about anime chicks. So maybe that?
Lucien_Lachance yea 5.18 is going to be interesting, there are some stuff I'd like to try out tweaking
JoshStrobl Let's be audacious : http://hannahmontana.sourceforge.net/
hi. i wonder if in solus 4.1 gnome wayland support is back... even debian ships with gnome wayland option (or default) nowadays.... any chance to enable and let users decide what to do?
Congratulations solus team. Thanks for bring kde to the family. Love the stability of solus. Carry on and best of luck solus team.
