mkl I hear you, none of this adds any real complexity for the app. \
The Fastfetch stuff is just their config files. I just enabled a setting that allows formatting to work properly in FZF which was a bug. So it now uses the fastfetch config properly.
The built-in fetch was something I wrote a long time ago and is simply to fulfill a request where a few users didn't have or want fastfetch but wanted the info.
The use your own config option was a one-line add to take care of anyone wanting anything more than the base style. So that I do not have to worry about it again 😉

My main focus is getting the codebase modularized to keep things simple, but let moss support be implemented for future Solus as well as for AerynOS.

but having for others way to spice up abit if they want is cool.
This and the side bar work you did I think are great improvements.

Calibre has always been overkill for my needs so I uninstalled it and went e-reader shopping on Solseek.
Ereader, e-reader, epub terms did not work in the search I remembered it was package names only. Then I went to desktop apps, guessed 'office' correctly and navigated quite easily with the up and down arrows. It was speedy.

I went with the very light Foliate from repo. I proceeded to install. That was that.
Before I would use Solseekto shop then go back to terminal and install. This time I used Solseek for the whole enchilada. Quite fast.
As long as you got those categories and that category that's fast to browse (you absolutely do), one does not need any keywords--lesson for myself.

Hello everyone, I was interested in this application and I downloaded it, I tried it and I liked it, very interesting and clear an alternative to normal stores, but after a short time using it an error is shown that informs:
"Error, Couldn't unpack file to target path.: No space left on device.", after that error the system crashes and a screen comes out saying that an error occurred the system must be rebooted, I really don't know why that happens. I use the Budgie desk, Solus 4.8.
I hope you understand I don't speak much English, I used a translator 🙂.

Then I opened solseek I used it for a while and I noticed that the /tmp is filling up while I am handling the program, then suddenly when filling up I think the error comes out for a full space.

But maybe that's a problem, if that's why. Excuse me if suddenly this topic that I am dealing with here is not for these threads.

Solseek doesn't really load anything to tmp. It does call eopkg and flatpak actions, but it does not use /tmp itself. Everything Solseek does is done within the .cache/solseek folder in your home directory.

That said, that is a pretty small /tmp directory size. Generally, the recommended minimum for a modern Linux desktop is 2-4GB and even that can push it, as it can quickly fill when actually using apps. It can cause crashing and other issues. How much RAM do you have installed?

I have been using Solseek for a couple of weeks now to do my updates. It works great for that. It may be my imagination but Solseek seems to do updates faster than Discover. And I like the way it shows me the progress of the updates. Thanks for a great program.

And no "error occurred"- messages, after waiting for ages for something to happen.
Also search- functionality is much user friendly in Solseek in my opinion. It seems, I am able to not find things I know are there, in Discover.
One thing I noticed and learnt that I must manually clear the cache after updating with Solseek. That is sudo eopkg dc
edit. I *must clear the cache because it's a bit crowded in my hard disc.

Clintre Hello, according to the tests that were carried out with the df -h, it seems that if you load something in the /tmp, because you were only using that program. The RAM that the system has is 4 GB. Maybe that's the only downside I have, otherwise everything is perfect.

AAndresH That is what I am saying. I call eopkg and flatpak, those load things into the /tmp. So in a way yes. Generally, you want your /tmp to be at least 50% of ram capacity.

Just did some testing. I get 36Mb loaded into /tmp on launch and when viewing packages, which would be eopkg. That was pretty consistent in testing.

Now that the latest release is out there, I did also want to bring to your attention the wiki where I am adding help and guides. It is also a place that, if you would like to contribute, is an easy way to do so, as quite honestly I have always sucked at writing guides 😉

Also, to that point, since I added the ability to have a custom update script in v0.9.0, I have added a few examples if you want to check for updates for things like AppImages (some have abilities to be updated) and use Gear Lever. But it would be a great place to add more examples or snippets for other update types.

Language wise we are now up to 4 with English, French, Polish, and Spanish. Once the GitHub project is 3 months old, I will be able to get setup with a translation tool people can use to make it easier for people to help on languages.

Just got pushed to Unstable, so it should be available on Stable at the end of the week.

I expect most updates for a while to be smaller with language or bugs being the main thing. I am working on the final stretch of the 1.x release along with moss support, which is looking better and better.
