Duplicate Flatpak Icons in Plank-Anyone else have this?

For LibreWolf, desktop file is in
/var/lib/flatpak/app/io.gitlab.librewolf-community/current/active/export/share/applications

changing StartupWMClass=librewolf to StartupWMClass=LibreWolf

solves this for me.

Sebastian I tried both locations the first location had it all lower case and the second
location is Already like you showed StartupWMClass=LibreWolf
Neither one works for me.

Note I even tried that spelling earlier before you gave the second location..

I deleted that line from the second location StartupWMClass=LibreWolf
and it now works properly

here's SUDO opening the file for edit:
sudo gedit /var/lib/flatpak/app/io.gitlab.librewolf-community/current/active/export/share/applications/LibreWolf

and here's me just simply opening a read-only copy right from the folder:

what backwards-as* planet am I on? same file!!!!

edit: sudo su shows an empty file too. without permissions I am allowed to see the file? frustrated 🤡 face here

Axios thanks will try right now. have opened system files always---wonder why I was denied even a look at the file with permissions?. It's never happened before 9-12-24....the theme change between gedit/sudo and gedit is also bizarre.

Maybe I need to reinstall Solus on a new platter?

Since there is no librewolf file in ~/.local/share/applications, should I 'save as' the read only file? and what should I call it? it's current name?:

or cut and paste the read only stuff into a new gedit and call it what?

brent Just copy and paste to the new location the LibreWolf file then you can edit in new location
no need for root
Dont change name save as same
Highlight file and right click edit then save simple (I am sure you know)
You can then run the file direct from file manager to see if it works

the folder we have a picture of no long exists according to terminal...

brent Yup thats file you want copy to new location you dont have use (Sudo) to just copy

save as to .../applications worked.
editing file in /applications worked
(librewolf to LibreWolf then save) worked.
logging out then loggind back in did not work. still two icons.
at least it was you too. back to the drawing board.

LibreWolf icon is gone but a new icon took its place at the very right end. kind of generic.

still duplicates. the old librewolf double would not let me CLOSE or KEEP IN DOCK so get rid of the real Libre Wolf in dock and make the fake the launcher?

brent remove the icons from plank all librewolf then open filemanager to the new file you edit
and drag onto plank see if that works dont need login again

what that did was preserve the generic icon (6th one in) but no duplicate. The highlighted file dragged just fine as you can see.
I left the file open for this pic.
I wondered way above that maybe I just have to show it where the real Icon= is? Maybe not? maybe Icon=io.gitlab.librewolf-community is the file and not the icon? 😛 running out of brain🙂
