Hi,
After reading over all the responses in the thread, it seems like there are two different, unrelated issues. Trying to talk about them both at once will lead to confusion. Let's try to sort them out one by one. This is what I see the issues as so far, let me know if I've missed something.
1 - When streaming to Twitch with Solus, OBS is OK but the browsers won't load pages. They get an error 'Browser Type Not Supported'. Related symptoms:
- This all works fine in Windows 10.
- This works fine on Solus at another person's house.
- At home, with Discord on Solus, Locale/Region as Brazil incorrectly. The timestamps show as in Reykjavík, Iceland, incorrectly.
Also related:
The unknown Amazon ec2 connections, and AWSGlobalAccerator, which are being used by Twitch. Twitch is owned by Amazon.
AWSGlobalAccerator is used by clients of Amazon's EC2 service to do load balancing. When you have a lot of traffic because of a large Twitch stream, this helps make sure the network isn't overloaded and all the Twitch clients can stream smoothly. These are normal and not a problem. (This is also unrelated to your ISP).
I agree with Axios that there is likely no man in the middle attack installed on your computer. It would behave the same regardless of where you connected. Your connection being different at a different location is normal. It's complex, but Twitch, the ISP and all the routers in between have rules for routing your traffic depending on various rules they all have.
With all that said, the problems with Twitch incorrectly identifying your locaiton and time zone are very likely due to Twitch's own networking rules. This is something they have to help you resolve. All the Solus install (and Windows install) can do is make sure your time zone and location are set correctly (I'm assuming they are). Contact Twitch about this.
2 - The issue with text at bootup being smaller past a password prompt and not being able to get past this without re-flashing the BIOS. This seems completely separate from the other issues. Symptoms related to this:
- It's the BIOS / UEFI screen or an encryption password prompt, before Solus loads. (This is based on you saying its at bootup, before screenshots are available).
- After using Windows for some time, and rebooting, the BIOS screen gets to this password prompt.
To help with #2 we really do need a screenshot or a more detailed description of the screen, as ermo asked. Without knowing what password its asking for, we don't know what the problem is or how to help.
Footnote: Not all of us in the Forums or the Solus Team are "sirs". I know you were trying to be polite. A better phrase to use, that is more inclusive, would be "Hi folks" (which is non-gendered). Thanks.
