brent elfprince you did not get your performance question directly answered

That's because he didn't ask about performance as far as I can see.

elfprince More like preferences, just like dev team members preferring matrix to forum. We have no choice but to follow, or leave. 😄

Ever since you complained about that there have been regular posts detailing the changes in a given week's sync have been posted to the forums by team members like @EbonJaeger

Surely you don't expect the team to also move their day-to-day chatter here. A forum is not a nice place to have a fast-paced conversation. Post a message, then keep reloading the page until you see the answer from the other person(s), rinse and repeat ^^

Staudey I agree. I introduced that specific word thinking that was what he was getting it. either way, I'm glad I researched it (in conjuction with the Buddies announcement) or I would have never known the reasons the industry was moving in that (wayland) direction. informative. edit: PS I learned the most from your Sharp thread

Staudey My remarks to brent were a joking statement of the facts, not a complaint. Sorry that you took it as one. Also, I would not expect an every day chatter to be conducted on forum of course. Makes no sense. Only the tech support and other distro related posts would belong on the forum, imo. And yes, I did notice, and am grateful that the team is being present on the forum on the regular basis with regard to notices etc. All good.

Now I'm using Solus 4.4 Plasma as my daily driver and it's awesome!
      Thank you Solus team.

I've been waiting for this before coming back. Feels good man. Thank you all!

I am positively impressed. I like Gnome, but it is not perfect. Budgie is what I like more. Rarely seen a distro working so fast on my PC. Congratulations.

      Staudey It's trending like crazy

Traffic on my torrent server has picked up, too. What I can't understand ... the most popular download seems to be for MATE. At, like, 6 times as much as the second place DE (which is GNOME). Actually, GNOME, Budgie and Plasma are almost equal. But MATE? That's the part I can't understand.

WetGeek Probably just a random coincidence. In my case the popularity of ISOs by upload ratios goes:

        1. Budgie (Ratio 3.13)
        2. Plasma (Ratio 2.06)
        3. GNOME (Ratio 1.87)
        4. MATE (Ratio 0.81) [yep, I haven't even uploaded one full copy of this one 😀]

(also today the Budgie 4.3️⃣ ISO seems to be quite popular for some reason 😆)

Staudey Probably just a random coincidence

Yours is much more as I'd expect. It could just be that there are fewer peers serving MATE torrents, I guess. Anyway, it's great to see Solus getting some love.

Axios Part of a review from distro watch

I wrote that review this morning. And I still don't know of any cons. Sure, there're the problems I've recently discovered with virtual machines, but I can't blame Solus for those when they might well be VirtualBox's fault.

Staudey Is there any way to tell how many active Solus users there are and whats the percentage per DE?

WetGeek that was a ruckus! gave it a like at DW! edit/sp

Sebastian Solus doesn't keep track of any information or metrics to really tell how many people use it. The closest that I know of is guessing the ratio of DE usage via watching the torrent seeding ratios, but even that can vary quite a bit from person to person.
