With no notice in the forum, and very little info available on Twitter, I thought I might start a Reddit account in order to learn more about why there's been no sync this week, and what progress has been made on 4.4. I didn't know whether I actually had a Reddit account, but if I did, I hadn't used it in many years.
When I tried to create an account, I was told that WetGeek is already a member. I then got a faint recollection of trying out Reddit years ago (probably before I found Solus), and finding that it didn't offer me much at the time, I abandoned it. There's no record of it in my LastPass vault, but that's not very surprising. With nearly 200 account passwords stored there, I periodically go through it and remove entries for sites that I haven't visited for at least a few years.
Of course, I tried to log on and that failed, leaving me with the option to replace a forgotten password. I knew that WetGeek was my user name there, because that's why I couldn't create an account. I also knew that there was only one email address I would have used -- wetgeek at wetgeek dot net. I provided those, and was told that if they matched, I'd get a link in that email that would let me define a new password.
That hasn't happened in several hours. Does anyone have a good idea for what I should do next? Does anyone here know the Reddit admins well enought to ask them to delete my account, and let me create a new one? I'd appreciate any help with this.
