Wow, so many friends trying to get me back here! I'm pretty sure I checked this this morning, as usual, and there was no change yet. But later, I noticed the tweet from Josh. Yeah, WetGeek is back on Twitter. It's been cleaned up a lot since I closed my account a couple years ago, and I wanted to follow the Solus Project account for news of my favorite distro.
I've been here today for a while now, but was occupied reading the new organization document, etc. It was a good idea to look for me in the Sparky Linux forum. WetGeek is not only an active account there, but also on the Siduction Linux forum, KDE forum, Mosilla forum, Vivaldi forum, etc., etc.
As I tweeted a while ago, I looked around for a distro that was as much like Solus as possible, and Sparky Linux filled that requirement admirably. In fact, I'm tempted to call it a 100% fit. I now use Sparky on my daily-driver laptop, my workstation, and my server. (Solus is still on one of the Latitudes, the Precision, and the Travelmate.)
Much as I love Solus, and have used it for years, a Solus Plasma VM that I created today showed that it's not been updated yet. Sparky, on the other hand, is quite up-to-date, so I'll continue using it until that changes for Solus. When that does happen, I suspect I'll change back to Solus everywhere, but for now, I'm enjoying the newer distro and updated software.
I'll definitely check this forum frequently for news, and run my checkUpgrades macro on the Solus VM frequently as well. It will tell me when there are upgraded packages to install.
