AntiX 22 - Observations
I had elected to do an online installation at first, because that's usually the easiest way to get up-to-date files, and sometimes a choice of DE or other features. Unfortunately, the "NET" version of the installer doesn't work, as I indicated in yesterday's attempt. Today I looked through a long list of .ISO files on an Oregon mirror, and found one called "FULL," and listed as 1.3 GB, instead of the much smaller "NET" .ISO. That contained a reasonable GUI installer, so I now have AntiX22 installed as a VM.
I've not done much with this distro yet, having just now installed it. I've noticed that it makes no attempt to resize itself when the VM window is enlarged, or taken to full-screen. First order of business wil lbe to install the guest additions, and/or modify the display settings to make this larger and easier to work with.
Next, I'll see whether any system settings require attention. Third, I'll try to get access to my NAS, which will make it easier to fetch some files I need while setting up a distro. AntiX is based on Debian stable, so doing an update and installing necessary packages shouldn't be any problem. More later ...
