ok thanks. when it happens it happens. took me a couple-three hours to dial Mate in. It's not a sleek greyhound like Budgie, but I like it. It's stable, easy, and understated. 2nd edit: but I'm free to move my desktop trashcan in my favorite place plus move other icons a luxury I've not had since forever. reunited and it feels so good.
I don't have a #2 with Solus but let me make sure I did not misjudge 22.0.4. I was overwhelmed by sensory overload, you have to admit that's part of its dealio..
WetGeek Dolphin is a fine kde app that belongs nowhere near gtk/gnome applications in my experience. In medical terms I had severe contraindications and complications. My two times were horrible with hard shutdowns, freezes, hard reboots, an all around awful experience. Dolphin uses the Baloo file indexer which, on my installs, indexes my entire computer not every couple hours, not every day, not every week, not every hour but every second nonstop. Paralyzed the the system, sucked up resources, obliterated memory. Crash crash crash. Watching it in System Monitor was like watching a horror film. There's a reason I remember Dolphin so easily and vividly.
edit/sp but probably not all
