TIny-Hacker you trying to install the budgie version? I'm thinking I have an old PC in storage. I could do a base install, update it, then clone it and share the ISO with you.
Another totally off the reservation thought... install it in a vm. Update. Then ise that to replace the nouveau files you need on the live usb.

I may also give the idea with the VM a try. I thought of doing that earlier but kind of put it off since I'm not that experienced with VMs, but that might be my only solution left.
However, from the nouveau error I can use Ctrl-Alt-F2 to access a CLI, which I could use to update, except that the partition with the live CD on it is too small for the update
chroot into your installed system following the instructions posted by zmaint and update there.

TIny-Hacker Just for kicks, did you try the 4.2 ISO? I know there's an official link somewhere but I cannot find it. I did find this though. https://www.getmyos.com/solus-4-2-fortitude-february-2021-64-bit-all-editions-official-iso-download I've had much better luck installing the Plasma 4.2 ISO than the 4.3 ISO on nvidia machines.

zmaint Sadly, it didn't seem to work. I'll probably try upgrading the installer ISO in a VM, and if that doesn't work I'll wait for a new ISO to be released, whenever that happens.
TIny-Hacker I do have a spare PC and I did get the budgie ISO downloaded. I do intend to install and clone for you. Yesterday ended up being busier than I thought.... Usually Fridays are exceptionally slow for work.
TIny-Hacker Sorry, I mixed things up and thought you're having an installed system that doesn't boot, but the ISO boots.
The only bet is to wait for the next ISO, as updating the live system doesn't change the version that's being installed from the ISO.

Hi there, I use Budgie with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti and booted the live iso 2 days ago without having a problem to fresh install Solus. The Problem only started after the install, because I needed the beta drivers for my system to work properly. Any chance of getting better results if you would try another Desktop environment ISO, e.g. Gnome? Then you could switch to Budgie once you get your Solus up and running.
Goldhahn When you installed, did you use a different DE?

The fact that the ISO seems to cooperate with @Goldhahn 's 3060 Ti but not with @TIny-Hacker 's 3060 is a great illustration of why ISOs are difficult to put together. The team has to test with lots of different hardware variations to see where stuff breaks.
infinitymdm Sorry for segueing a little bit here, but I always wondered... why am I able to boot the live ISO easily but getting a blackscreen after the post-install reboot? Sometimes Nvidia is just a hassle...
But @TIny-Hacker, you should definitely try out the other DE ISOs. I mean, it's worth a try.
Goldhahn not entirely sure. If it worked in the ISO, it should work after install... But I digress. If you can get to a terminal, you can update via sudo eopkg up.

infinitymdm Thank you, but my system is already running. Had to chroot into my machine and install the beta drivers. That was 3 days ago. 
It was more a question out of curiosity. So, sorry again.
