Since plata-noir development went dark (pun half intended) and misbehaving with updates to the GNOME stack (notifications most noticeably), I changed to materia-dark as is selected by default for Solus now.
But my login screen started to have black foreground text on a black background. I searched around and saw that there was a fix for it in the last weekly sync, but it wasn't working for me. It turns out I needed to install budgie-desktop-branding-fortitude-plus
.
I'm on the same install since 2018 and have had this experience before, having to move to fortitude
and now fortitude-plus
.
Is there any way to just always be on the bleeding edge for this, rather than keep being left behind? I understand if others might not want that, but if there was another package like budgie-desktop-branding-latest
which is always set to the bleeding edge, I would probably switch to that.
