WetGeekI finally took the time to play around with the idea of composing some alert sounds for the system. I must confess: it was difficult! 🙂 The duality of the project - restricted time duration and the infinite possibilities of "musical styles/aesthetics" made me decide on the following approach: use my electric bass (low) and add synthetic sound effects (mid and high) to it. I could have chosen so many other picks, but this is the one I ended up deciding...
Anyway, I created some examples this morning (here in my city it's a rainy and gray Saturday - Ijuí, Brazil), and I made it available in this folder for those who are curious: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1AJST-zFBZvxBwCQDyAmKxeQJiBTULlna?usp=sharing

I need to remind that this is just for fun, there is no intention to suggest anything to the Solus project, let alone have I been asked by the developers to create this palette of sounds. This is the result of an informal chat here on the forum.

RicSense Unfortunatley, I can't get to the google drive folder you were trying to share! I'd love to see what you've worked up. Maybe there's another way you can share them?

RicSense I also like to have a good time making sounds, specifically with LMMS, although I am more given to making images. 😅
I made the folders myself from scratch, except for some icons inside the .SVG files (Like the one in the Music, Videos and Games folder), but I'm in the process of replacing them. I only use them as a reference. 😅

Bhibb can confirm yesterday: while logged into my google account, the link above threw me a permissions problem. So yes, inaccessible.

Brucehankins yeah I guess thats a comfort level thing totally...I don't like requesting entrance to anyone's digital house, very rare. If you want me in then open the door🙂. Even at work I only do attachments b/c I will not work in Drives with too many chiefs as the old saying goes. (I personally am fascinated by internet minutiae like this.)

brent yeah, I get that. I've had to work with sharing of files and directories for different web apps, onedrive, Google drive, and sharepoint a lot, so I'm used to sending and receiving access request for specific files.

RicSense Personally, I have been really liking https://toffeeshare.com/ for sharing files between/among people. It's peer-to-peer, and as long as you keep the tab open, others with the link you provide can access whatever you host there. Once you close the tab, then the files are no longer being shared. Also, it boasts end-to-end encryption.

That's my go-to now!
Personally, I try to use as few Google products as possible. That includes a Gmail account :-/

RicSense Seems like that action didn't work then. Set the sharing link back to "Restricted" and then once again to "Anyone with the link", I guess.

Bhibb I use: RiseUp its inferior (Limit 50MB) but so OpenSource.

Other services with GUI for Linux Desktop: NitroShare and OnionShare. 😁
