Fatih19 Justin Both of them. I wanted an easy to carry Solus, if I need to borrow my colleagues laptop, I don't need to use the awful Windows OS.
Justin 1: 99.999% of thumb drives have bad 4K r/w so it'll be awful 2: You'll likely need to use legacy boot to ensure it'll work everywhere 3: I've wanted to do this with a proper M.2 USB C(Plus A for older devices) case for a while but never got around to it
Fatih19 Justin I would be receiving a laptop very soon that has an SSD in it. So now, I'll have a spare SSD. I'll probably just use that. As for M.2, are you referring to this video:
CraigMatze Just checked that combo on Newegg - WD Blue 3D NAND 500GB Internal SSD - SATA III 6Gb/s M.2 2280 + SilverStone Mobile Series SST-MS09B Black M.2 SATA External SSD Enclosure with USB 3.1 Gen 2 = $110 Reasonable 🙂 maybe over-kill for a thumb drive.
Justin M.2 is just smaller form factor so better for portability. NVMe is the better interface vs SATA but both still offer much better performance for an OS.
Justin CraigMatze Far from it. There's a deal on at the moment for a ONE TERABYTE NVME M.2 for $101.99 USD. You can get a 256GB for about $50USD which is not much.
