elfprince Agree but reality complicates things. And now they are putting Driver IDs on phones. I make it a point to use my Pine on the weekends to get away from all the craziness but as @Brucehankins states, things like authy, contactless payment...makes it hard to go to Pine full time. I'm trying.

jppelt First thing, the eyes get damaged even more, trying to see and read. Second, the keyboard is not meant for typing on by a human hand. I understand what you are saying. 😀 For my part, I will keep resisting. Desktop is my most used device, and after that the tablet for light browsing/facebook etc. Resistance is NOT futile.

I agree. These phones have WAY too much information at their disposal and Apple has no more interest in your privacy than any big tech. As much as I can I go open source and try to keep everything distributed - minimize cloud, etc...

It is tough. At least I have Solus Budgie to look forward to when I sit down in the office. It's the little things, right? <smile>

100% in agreement. "Smart" phone my arse-----they can keep it. Only a moneybags person can afford to pay for internet twice (home and phone). Seems such a scam. I am not moneybags. *But I wish I was!

elfprince I dunno, man. I like having the whole power of the internet at my disposal in a pocket-sized device. Can't put a tablet in my pockets.
I don't use my phone for extended periods of time, but for a quick Wikipedia search or similar when something comes up while I'm somewhere without a computer, I wouldn't want to miss it.
I might be in the market for some kind of foldable tablet or similar though, if they ever get the technology just right.

DRM, cmon guys it was proved thousand times that its useless against piracy and only frustrate legitimate owners ironically encouraging piracy
everything that tech giants like google, apple & MS are doing. all of it is of questionable quality, overpriced and barely can fulfill the purpose it was designed for since iTs JuSt WoRkS and to top all of that they milk it with ads and selling your data, like its not enough that you paid for it already.
corporate art style.. seriously stop it, its atracious. also ultra minimalist art style, there is a line that you dont want to cross or it will simply look ugly, windows 8+ are good examples of that.

people who dont care about clarity and cohesion principle while designing software, mageia's urpmi is a good example of it, I get it they wanted to be unique.. but its not a good thing for that matter (eopkg for instance is clear and neat).

This is very important point. Like Apple accesories for iMac. They may look nice on a table or those dumb stock images for websites, but they are made for people with retarded hands with a brain parasite called manbuns on on the top of their heads that sucks all the common sense from their brains.

Even if I like some gaming accesories design (big mice that are comfortable or some mechanical/membrane keyboards) but some of them look like something that fell out from xenomorph's a**. And the LED backlighted elements may look nice but in many cases they are annoying like those PC master race computer cases and mainboards full of lights. They even put RGB LEDs on freaking RAMs nowadays.
