Try installing the broadcom-sta-current package from the Software Center (System Software > Kernel Drivers). If you prefer working from the Terminal, you can try this command: eopkg it broadcom-sta-current. In either case, once broadcom-sta-current is installed, restart the computer.
In many cases, that is all that is needed to get Broadcom wifi/bluetooth cards working properly.
UPDATE/ADDENDUM:
I ran across this thread - Getting Broadcom Wireless Cards to Work. Reading down through the entire thread, I noticed that Broadcom BCM4314 adapters seem particularly troublesome. If (but only if) the simple broadcom-sta-current install suggested above does not work, the first comment in the thread suggests an additional step that might help. See Step 03 in that comment.
