DataDrake [ 1724.944] (EE) open /dev/dri/card0: No such file or directory Well that's no good. Can I see dmesg?
DataDrake TheVE I think you have a bad kernel flag being handed in by the bootloader. [ 5.768279] amdgpu: `0xfffd7fff' invalid for parameter `ppfeaturemask'
TheVE I haven't changed anything. Searching it says it is related to enabling GPU features (overclocking) but everything on my system is stock. I've not messed with anything like that so I have no idea how to remove it.
DataDrake TheVE No, really. Your cmdline options are different than ours. Someone would have to have either manually altered them or maybe you are doing a multi-boot where something else messed it up?
TheVE It would be much appreciated if you can point me to where I can find info on how to fix it? Thanks.
TheVE Damn. I have no idea what I did then. I really try not to mes with things. Haha. I guess I start from scratch. 😅 Thanks for looking.
DataDrake TheVE Can you check for an /etc/kernel/cmdline or /etc/kernel/cmdline.d? I'm genuinely confused as to how this happened.
TheVE Oh! /etc/kernel/cmdline has "amdgpu.ppfeaturemask=0xfffd7fff" and nothing else. There is no cmdline.d Would it be as simple as removing that line? I seriously have no idea how that got there (let alone what it means), though. haha
TheVE DataDrake BAM! Back in action! Thank you so much for taking the time to help me figure that out. I am so grateful for your patience.
TheVE DataDrake Holy crap! Ever since I started using Solus Plasma (maybe 2.5 years ago or so), my second monitor wouldn't work. It would just glitch and flash. I didn't really bother to figure out what the problem was and just left the monitor there. lol. It just popped on like nothing happened and is working perfectly fine. Bonus!
TheVE Actually, spoke too soon about the monitor. My tablet stopped working and when I checked why it was because I ended up back on 4.9 LTS. When I switch back to CURRENT my second monitor stops working again. 🙁 But my tablet works. So win/lose.
