Lately I've been looking at Pop_OS! (or however it's written). The new tiling functionality seems interesting, though one could probably also get that for Solus Gnome.
If not solus, what distro would you be using
If not solus manjaro for sure. it was painful enough ditching manjaro.... but solus is too awesome and i love the uniqueness.
OpenSUSE Tumbleweed
Linux Mint but after Solus is not enough.
Solus and Fedora for me.
Probably Manjaro, because is Arch with less headache, or maybe fedora, used fedora many times before, I like it, but the upgrade gave me problems before, I don't like the idea of reinstalling the system without need, just because a new update arrived.
Actually I would say Arch, but nowadays no more, I have kids, wife and a job... no more linux solving prolems funtime.
Traitor here. I'm actually VM-ing Solus (please don't ban me ). Using Fedora full-time because of the newer packages that I need like postgresql 12 and nodejs 13/14.
Sent from Windows 10 because of reasons. Now I can die in shame

You know, you can always run Postgres through Docker.
And nodejs.... just use nvm or n, its a must for a node developer.
I'd use Solus. But that's because I'd continue it's development.
Fedora
I'd remain on MacOs (using a Macbook Air 2013 - A1466) if it wasn't for the Catalina update that broke most of my old apps including some obscure french dev utilities and WINE based apps. Especially since going back to Mojave is now almost impossible (I just don't have the patience for that anymore).
I would propably go for Opensuse Tumbleweed. Or if that would not be available back to Fedora (not Silverblue). I want to have a rolling release (and not to install/do a risky Upgrade every couple of months) without the bleeding edge (therefor i do not like Manjaro or Arch. Had them running a couple of years ago).
DE would always need to be Gnome. I got used to the good Touch device Support.
Arch Vanilla with Budgie DE
I am newbie to the use of Solus Budgie.
As long as I can't really find my way around and read the clock at Systray without glasses ,
I will continue to use as my main system:
Calculate Linux (Gentoo).
I can't even conceive of the idea of using a different distro. My mind just can't wrap around the idea.
probably opensuse
manjaro xfce
