  • I am newbie to the use of Solus Budgie.
As long as I can't really find my way around and read the clock at Systray without glasses 😉 ,
I will continue to use as my main system:

    Calculate Linux (Gentoo).

  • djedosi I installed on different Linux, but I see this for the first time.

Even if I'm making myself unpopular now,
Linux and Photoshop are two worlds !

There are always some losses when you go through "The Gate"!
And when you come back, it's not sure that you are the same. 😉

btw: As far as I know, you could still run e.g. Lightroom 5 under "wine", but version 6 didn't work anymore.
    At Photoshop probably similar...

  • WetGeek If you experience any screen tearing and jerkiness, you might want to try MATE instead.

So far, things with Budgie are going pretty good. But I'll keep your advice in mind.

By the way, the multimedia system runs on a separate system,
so I don't have any printer problems there 😅

  • brent ... " Installing a printer is always a process of elimination sometimes-- "

    Thanks for your advice.

After what felt like a "thousand" tries, it actually worked - the printer prints!
Not always, but at least from time to time 😉

    hand

  • By the way -

I installed Solus Budgie on an "ASROCK QC5000M-ITX/PH"
and ran it over the TV, as a multimedia system.
The Distro does a damn good job there !

    Thanks

    • Hello, everyone,
it could have been so beautiful...
After some hours and different attempts ( Budgie and KDE ) to get my printer "HP LaserjetP1102w" running, there is only one thing left to do ....

Alternatively I could buy a second printer. But honestly, I'd rather use my "old" Linux then.

      Time will tell.
