System audio switches to HDMI from default line-out analog

I started noticing when I'm turning up/down the volume where it triggers the volume for HDMI instead of the default line-out I set. I have to manually open of Raven and pick line-out to temporarily fix the problem. I can't seem to find the trigger for the switch. I checked journalctl but I only got these

davidjharder I haven't confirmed if my issue triggers the same way but I'll check after a reboot. I'm not 100% sure but I think it does it right after my computer locks after idle. I will post an update once I confirm

It's been an hour and my computer has been rebooted twice, and left idle to lock about 3 times since I have to leave the office but it looks like it's not switching to HDMI by itself anymore. It might have actually been the pulseaudio update that caused the issue. Thanks @JoshStrobl I think this is another case solved! much appreciated

tothecloudd0 Thanks, I'll see about getting it reverted. I checked it on my system and can indeed confirm that it's switching me to HDMI instead of my Blue Yeti and now I'm annoyed.

@kyrios Given I'm not seeing any diffs submitted with this, care to explain what is supposed to be different with this package?

JoshStrobl For now I added this patch (and also this one). I'm still looking further but I don't want to add too many patches at once. The thing is that on my laptop with just internal speaker/mic jack & usb audio I don't have any issue so I can't test myself. Even the overlay when -/+ the volume is working fine here (on MATE).

Hi, I'm currently getting a similar issue.
When I return from Idle-to-lock the sound output has switched from S/PDIF to Hdmi(monitor).
What data should I provide to help investigate?
