JoshStrobl : 🙂 You have done a fabulous job with Solus 4.0.

The theming is amazing (It is clean and modern-looking).

And, the operating system is snappy.

I have been using Solus MATE since Shannon and Fortitude is a joy to use.

The entire Solus Team deserves a standing ovation!

SuperJC710e Thanks! That's convenient, but that config modification works better, so I guess I will stick with that for now.

JoshStrobl Sure, I've already tried to switch to Light theme to solve it, didn't help. I'm still using it though because with Default the tabs panel is too dark for me (with Plata-Noir), and you can see on my prev screenshot it's white.
So far I know that you can easily reproduce an issue on https://app.asana.com, or easier, on any public Bitbucket repo in "Commits" section, like here: https://bitbucket.org/railstutorial/sample_app_4th_ed/commits/all
There you can see that search input becomes black (it's not terrible there because text becomes white, but on Asana text is dark).

You are the best, great job and thank's for your work! <3

Very nice OS with Budgie Desktop, thanks for all the hard work. It took awhile to get around the different menus from what I have been used to in xfce Manjaro. Thanks to your forum I managed to install a different cursor by adding a folder to home /.icons and moving the Ecliz cursor folder to it. Then used System Settings to change it. I have been with @Ikey for a longtime, off and on. Looks like I found a new home.

Congratz guys!! You make Solus really awesome. Just wondering one thing. I upgraded Solus but didn't get pre-installed "Plata-Theme" is this normal behaviour or is a bug? Ofc I installed it from the software centre, just wondering.

Mjafko Yes, Solus won't screw up users defaults... would you be happy if we would change your theme, desktop background, icons, mouse pointers, fonts whenever a new ISO is released ?

Well, I tried them all, Budgie, Gnome and now I am using Mate. Actually I like Mate better. Still here!

Mjafko You can install it directly from the Software Center.

kyrios You are probably right. 🙂 Thank you was just wondering.

@Justin yh, I did that. Was just wondering why I didn't have it by default in my Theme options.

Well, as explained several times, the maintainers don't believe they should change your settings explicitly nor force software that you don't want on you. A stand with which I totally agree, though I can see the confusion factor.
If you did a fresh install, you would have gotten that theme. As you upgraded, you don't by default.

I'm going to be working with @kyrios on making a modification to our vendor prefs.js to hopefully enforce widget.content.gtk-theme-override as Adwaita:light. I've already validated that it works against Plata-Noir and Plata-Lumine, and it is the most optimal solution IMO compared to installing an add-on (which we can do, there are vendor paths for, but to summarize it in one word: "eh").

Would make the change myself but I don't exactly have my beefy desktop sitting next to me at the moment.

You can expect an out-of-band sync for firefox (as well as some package updates I'm getting in like Telegram 1.6.1 just so it removes the pesky update notification for people).

Just recently installed it on one of my machine and I have to say it looks and runs like a champ. I tried Solus a few months ago but never really gave it a chance to perform as it does now. The desktop is simple and clean, just the way I like it. Thank you Solus team for all the hard work you guys do

Yeh I am actually an archlinux guy and/or Manjaro. I just had a bad updgrade on Manjaro on my daily driver machine. Might have been my own mistake, who knows. And I was about to install vanilla Arch again, I said... $#@! it lets try something new. I actually saw Solus on distrowatch many times.

But then came across the name more often on reddit, linux gaming, linux masterrace and all those subs you know. And I always saw people saying good things about it, the ONLY negative was always "no AUR, not many packages etc." as I am more or less someone that does not need every single software out there I couldn't care less so I said, %$#@ it. Install Solus.

First tried it on my very old M4 SSD 60 GB. That is my so called Linux Test Drive. Used it couple of days/weeks. Only problem I had was the update errors that happend to all of us. That was fixed very fast tho.
The only thing that kept me from going all in 100% on Solus was the fact that the main developer was not reachable, stopped working on it and all that stuff. I mean, what is the point of using a distro when you know that none is gonna take care of it?
But I then saw that the main dev gave all the "rights" to the current guys responsible for Solus. New Domain etc. Then I backedup my installation with clonezilla and moved it from Linux Test Drive SSD to my m.2 nvme Drive.

I play games a lot, I did on Arch and Manjaro. Call me crazy, it can just be a placebo effect, who knows. But some games just seem to run better on Solus compared to Arch/Manjaro. I know that some stuff is integrated for Steam/Proton etc.
But I don't know how that has any positive effect or not on games. At the end of the day, System runs smooth, I like it. Games run very smooth. Solus is my daily driver currently. And I am excited to see more stuff to come. Like sol.
