@Justin Honestly I use it cause I think tons of these browsers are just reinventing the wheel. Vivaldi seems really cool to tinker with but FF gets my work done, is customizable enough, and has the extensions I want (uMatrix, privacy badger etc.) It's also nice to be settled into a relatively stable and long standing piece of software and Firefox provides all that while being OSS.

Firefox, it looks great without title bar.
Solus is actually the first distro that I used where 144Hz truly works without annoying micro stutters.

My tweaks:
mousewheel.default.delta_multiplier_ ;200
layout.frame_rate;144
layers.offmainthreadcomposition.frame-rate;144
layers.acceleration.force-enabled;true

I have to add that FIREFOX means in my case only in private mode and a lot of the features on offer turned off.
I also kick out most of the default search engines, I only keep Startpage.com and, in case needed, Google and DuckDuckGo.

Wouldn't touch anything googleistic like Chrome with a pair of tweezers!!

I use it because it's reliable, well supported, I can customize it to a great extent and there are a lot of add-ons (which I don't need).
It gets the job done and is quick.
Mind you, I have a powerful Thinkpad W530 helping me along the way.

elfprince since I started using brave I didn't look back, browsing is so smooth because it blocks all the crap out with the built in shield

      Well, thanks for the tip:
I tried to install BRAVE but couldn't.
It looked as if it got installed (in the Software Center) but it didn't show in the list of apps.
I couldn't run it from the terminal either.

Any idea what might have happened?

        That did the trick, thanks!
I hadn't restarted my computer, but when I did the BRAVE icon was right there amongst the apps and started perfectly. Strange though that one should have to do that...

So, now I can test it for a while.

Justin When Firefox isn't the default, I install it myself.

          I use Firefox because:

          1. I trust Mozilla more than I trust Google.
          2. Almost all sites I use work fine on Firefox, or even better than on other browsers I've tried. The only site I've found any issues with is Homebrewery, which doesn't render properly on Firefox, but I just use Brave for that one site.
          3. I find it easier to make Firefox look good than other browsers. I love how my Firefox installation looks and feels.
          4. I've found Firefox just generally seems to work more smoothly than other browsers.
          5. I've always used Firefox, and I just haven't really seen any major benefit to switching to another browser. I hate saying this, but well... 'it just works' 😅

JoshStrobl Good evening first of all I would like to know how I can install the latest beta version or the stable version of opera is the only browser that I like because it works perfectly on my computer and used firefox and consumes a lot of memory and chrome less than less is currently excessive consumption stable version of the opera is 60.0.3255.27 and I would like to install it in advance thank you very much and apologize if my English is not perfect I am using a translator thanks

90% of the time Google Chrome
The other 10% is split between Firefox and Vivaldi.

I know I'm the monster that sleeps under your bed at night, but I like Chrome 😅

Firefox on every platform except my 10' hybrid/convertible Windows 10 notebook, whose limited resources and touchscreen prefer Microsoft Edge over every alternative tried so far.

Justin I look for it by that means and it leaves a version 58.0.3135.90 of 07-Mar-2019 and already there is a new version 60.0.3255.27 of 09-Apr-2019 that is the one that I would like to install because if there was a way of oneself not is through the installation of debian packages do not say yo then that new version is very nice
