Hello everyone! I'll share my thoughts on Solus before leaving.
I downloaded mate version of Solus. Bc of i don't like DE's.So i just want minimal DE for installation process.
... and it's perfectly downloaded and ready to install on my hardware. Installation process is great, no errors.
First things to do, i upgraded machine, installed drivers and rebooted. Then i want to install dwm and st for my job but it's little bit trickier than it needs to be.
But nothing crazy, it works.I can do my job, i can continue developing my game engine and it goes like that. But tbh i just feel don't know what OS does.I always like
what OS does on my machine and that's why i switched to linux. But i want to know deeper, deeper and deeper.
So i just switched to FreeBSD and i really liked.Actually i can switch to Gentoo, but why i have to stand Gentoo installation process? It's too difficult to do.
And there is one reason too, it's 'bloated' or 'featured'.If we look 'ls' command on GNU and FreeBSD,
GNU is nearly 5k lines of code but FreeBSD is only 1k lines of code. There is a big difference for me.So i'm leaving from gnu/linux and going to FreeBSD and OpenBSD.
There is one thing too, linux is just a kernel. But FreeBSD is a OS byself and independently written other BSD OS's.
If you reading this and new to linux or thinking to switch Solus, don't stop! It's really great, but not for me.
Thanks, Akira.
