Hey everyone,

As a result of the later-than-usual sync that occurred for Week 9, I'm going to be pushing back our upcoming sync until Tuesday. So far there isn't anything especially scary or notable that's in unstable at the moment, but I want to see some patches currently in Differential get landed (new XOrg AMD video drivers, new Rust, LibreOffice, etc.) and tested during the weekend.

This'll also give me some time to finish up the branding packages and new defaults for Solus 4.0 Fortitude (oh noes spoilers on the name totes didn't have it in baselayout and lsb-release for a bit) and coordinate with @kyrios on anything we'd like done on the MATE front, so there won't be any blockers for the release of Solus 4.0.

Not that...ya know...we give ETAs on releases or anything.

any chance such announcements could be rrs'ed ?
    thanks for ther heads up

    Wat.

Edit: If you mean RSS'ed, as in put into an Atom and/or RSS feed, there is a Flarum extension to support it but it isn't especially granular and it's fairly buggy, so not something I plan on adding.

    Awesome.

Hopefully we can mature to the point that rolling release means when done/safe/ready it's ready for release and forget this time-lime BS 🙂

Well, it is kinda nice to know when to expect an update (on a weekly schedule or daily).
As far as reaching 4.0 goes, it's nice to finally get off the pot and produce something. I mean I know numbers don't mean anything really, but it's very important to state that we (community) or we (devs (which I am not)) have produced something and it's a live progressing distro. That is usually measured by how long since the last number roll, and 3.999 ->3.9999 doesn't cut it.
It also has that side effect that probably a new ISO is released soon too (which is always nice for installls/reinstalls).

    Josh/Kyrios,

There is one thing that I really do not understand. Why is everyone trying to get you guys mad with 3.9, 3.99, 3.999 etc. and when will Solus 4.0 be there? I really don't understand. We have a (already for many years) perfect running system. You and your guys are working like idiots to get it better and better etc.
Please everyone : take it easy. And please wait. When there is better system you all will be the first one who will see the result. So please : do not ask for ETA's anymore. And please again : take it easy. A new version won't break the world. The result will be perhaps more better . But in what way? I am already satisfied with Solus for a few years.::

evert 3.9999 is a funny number.
Yes, Solus is a rolling release so we users see gradual changes, but I know a few who are looking for updated iso images to test Solus with again. They will come with version 4.
Been running Solus for well over 2 years, so know patience when it comes to releases.

Kyrios, I really don't know...but we both know they are 😉

Don't know and don't care to be honest. I don't make it a habit of listening to the loudest voices in the room.
