Deferring Week 10 Sync Until Tuesday (12.03.2019)
pceiley,
Naturally Gnome 3.30 is important. And within one year 3.40 will be important. Allways something is important. But that is not the case. It's just the fact that Josh and his collegues are working like idiots to make Solus better and better and better. And they do it for free. They do this allready for many years. So leave those guys alone and when they have something new to tell, we will all be the first to know. But : be patient. It will all come in time, also Gnome 3.30.
From a really GNOME-LOVER : Evert.
@Girtablulu What's blocking the Plasma release? If there's anything I can help with let me know.
Oh boy, we get a meaningless (but much appreciated) number roll today (I hope). And lest anyone think otherwise, I want to thank those that make Solus possible. Long ago, in a galaxy far away, I did some personal internet projects, and contributed to free source software (including the popular 'sudo' command). I also had an opportunity with work where I was in town with Todd and took him out to dinner (on the company's dime, since sudo had allowed significant operational security efficiencies for our data center).
Release points will probably always be important (maybe not so much to those using the distributions but more to outsiders and/or newcomers). Those of us living in the eco-system, probably appreciate major releases of included software more than the distro numbers. Even so, I admit to an expected thrill at seeing 'Solus 4.0' on the boot list.
Not announcing Solus 4 to my own social media streams until the new ISOs are in place on the download page.
Fully know this has no ETA.
Still, I so look forward to going home after work and updating my 3 Solus installs.
Sync complete. Let's get back on track with another sync this Friday.
