Community discussions can sometimes take unexpected turns, and this is one of those.

I don't think they deserve the praise of "they listened to us users". No initially when people complained they said the time for discussion was over and said users are just "whinging", funny how I read a post from someone at canonical saying that and now magically it doesn't exist. Its not the users they listened to. But who knows, perhaps 'we misunderstood' that too.
But now we get those who still think this is about supporting 32bit hardware come out and berate canonical for reversing course. 👀
I can see it's going to be one of those days...
