Budgie 10.10 Testing

Just small issues so far. Testing with Unstable, hope that's ok.

I use a single Top Panel with the "Automatically hide" setting on "Automatic". It seems the behavior for this has changed under wayland; it no longer hides under any circumstances as far as I can tell.
When setting the panel position in Budgie Desktop Settings > Panel > Settings, the Position combobox doesn't show the current setting. It's just empty.
Panel Transparency settings (Budgie Desktop Settings > Panel > Settings > Transparency) appear to be ignored.
Mouse & Touchpad settings in Budgie Control Center aren't being respected. Natural Scrolling doesn't seem to change the touchpad behavior. Nor does changing the touchpad speed. I also tried fiddling with the settings under the mouse heading; no change there either. (Any advice on this? It's a really annoying issue)

infinitymdm Panel Transparency settings (Budgie Desktop Settings > Panel > Settings > Transparency) appear to be ignored.

These both depend on knowing where other windows are, which we can't do on Wayland; at least not without our own compositor that exposes some sort of way to tell when a surface is close to another. Thus, these don't work.

One more:

Raven does not close when clicking on another app, only when clicking on the desktop background (or the Raven toggle on the panel)

I use the toggle to open/close. Mine Raven window is way oversized as well

brent Looks like the Raven issue I mentioned is being tracked here: https://github.com/BuddiesOfBudgie/budgie-desktop/issues/887. I assume from your message that you're also having that issue and working around it by clicking the toggle.

I just discovered that trying to use my yubikey with Firefox under Budgie 10.10 causes Firefox to freeze. I don't have time to troubleshoot this at the moment, so it's back to 10.9 for me for the time being.

@EbonJaeger got any advice for me on how to narrow down this issue to something you guys can duplicate? This is a deal breaker for me - I need to be able to use a physical factor with Firefox. What information should I collect and include in a new issue?

Same annoying thing with keyring here too. Vivaldi is affected.

carlberger I am running it in a VirtualBox VM. German keyboard but english (US?) keymapping and I can't seem to change it via the control centers "Input Sources", only german installed.

Noticed this too, super+space no longer works, and input applet is gone (known issue)
Alt+Shift works.

No change. The moment something tries to query the yubikey (GitHub Login, for example), Firefox freezes until I kill it from the terminal.

Tried launching firefox with EbonJaeger 's suggestion again after the latest round of updates. Running MOZ_ENABLE_WAYLAND=0 firefox lets firefox access my yubikey and other hardware (such as microphone for zoom calls) without crashing.

@infinitymdm have you tried Firefox flatpak? You can also use Flatseal to force it to use X11 iirc.

keys to change volume work, but not Play/Pause and Next/Previous 🙁

I saw some issues were fixed, when we can expect update? 🙂

Also having some very odd behavior from the budgie menu - it occasionally likes to pop up in pieces, with each element only appearing when I move my mouse over where it should be to trigger an update. Possibly nvidia related?

I have a recording of the behavior, but can't upload it here due to file size limits.

This sounds a lot like the intermittent issues I've been having with Budgie menu:

When this happens for you next, try moving your mouse over the place where the menu should be. If it's like what I'm having, when your mouse is over a menu item that item will be redrawn and appear to "pop" into existence.

For me, everything on the panel up to the width of the Budgie menu (so the menu icon plus my icon tasklist) gets duplicated and drawn onscreen where the menu should be. I've been noticing it less often since the most recent set of updates, but that might just be me subconsciously working around it.

That leaves every new window in any app opening extreme left (upper and lower) 0r extreme right (upper and lower); autoarrange can be on or off, same result; nothing is centered.

can't confirm. Center new windows on the screen option works for me

Encountered a new issue on login today. When I left the computer yesterday I locked it with Super + L. (The new lock screen looks great, btw). And this morning when I tried to log in, I was unable to do so. I kept getting "Login failed", even though the password appeared correct. I had to reboot in order to log in. After rebooting, subsequent tests (lock, try to log in) also gave the "login failed" error text next to the "Unlock" button.

Testing with a fresh user now, will report back momentarily.

EDIT: Same behavior with a brand new user. I can lock the screen, but can't unlock except through slick-greeter.

having variations of your problems: super key launches menu, all in one piece for me, but you can't type in it on opening. on arch I can't shut down from Budgie DE until I get to logout greeter page, far removed.

I kinda like new lock-screen too. The old lock screen just turned off my monitor, new one doesn't do it (I don't have automatic timer to turn off display enabled). Not sure if I like old or new behavior.

I would prefer new lock-screen to be a bit darker since it's always on and maybe dim after 2 min so clock would be still visible. And cursor should hide too for clean look 🙂

Oh, haven't had a problem with login so far..
Maybe you were not on En input?
