brent don't have a pastebin acct. looks like this will be about 25 screenshots or phone shots can I just email journal.log text file to anyone at solus? or devtracker?
Harvey brent You do not need an account to use pastebin, having an account just provides extra features.
brent this works just fine in mullvad; not on librwolf/flarum where I am talking to you now...lager take me away 🙂 pastebin.com/VeYwXEc
Original-Syn Axios You should be able to go into System Settings -> Displays and see what the orientation is set to. Sounds like somehow it got set to Landscape Flipped. You should be able to change it there and see if it sticks.
Axios Original-Syn Budgie doesnt have that in displays or anywhere I can find This Is a lenovo Ideapad fold the screen back and use like tablet since the screen image rotates prob something do with that.
Original-Syn brent Looks like buudgie-panel is segfaulting and crashes when it retries. You could potentially fix it with a budgie-panel reset command. That would obviously set it to the default, and you would have to redo your customizations. It could be a plugin or something that was used on it that the update didn't like or corruption. But I would wait to hear back from the team.
brent Original-Syn there was also a peculiar memory problem (hardware?) and and keyboard problems. they may have been benign. I have that old panel reset command somewhere....that only happens to me whenan applet wrecks something the n depressingly 2 hours of tweaks disappeared...but I was always grateful to have it back 🙂 good catch; will wait for team as well
brent Original-Syn . It could be a plugin or something that was used on it that the update didn't like or corruption. no plugins but not sure what you mean? a plugin for the panel? or do you mean applet? for example? just can't remember any moves like this. reset panel twice ever..what I do remember as reasons are: 1) display manager failed (update maybe) 2) I introduced an applet both long ago. Axios dunno tired giving it up tonight I will check tomorrow maybe somebody have an answer for me me too. getting up disgustingly early for a Saturday (4:30am) to get some things done. thanks everyone.
Axios Original-Syn I dont have that If I hold the laptop with keyboard facing down the screen goes proper Something with the auto rotation crap And I have no idea about that.
Original-Syn Axios Yep, sounds like something with whatever handles that. Not as familiar with that, I am afraid.
Axios Original-Syn I stopped this service sudo systemctl stop iio-sensor-proxy.service and the landscape setting showed up in displays and was inverted flipped right and it worked but of coarse when i reboot it will do it again. Something with this update caused it to go out to lunch I could disable it but may want to use it sometime dunno tired giving it up tonight I will check tomorrow maybe somebody have an answer for me Just a note it use to work fine.
brent EbonJaeger your awesome trash can, raven, time & date, sound setting thingy, internet thingy, radiotray, notifications---that's about it. all normal stock except radiotray-ng. edit: have not added or subtracted to this in two years or so.
EbonJaeger brent I've opened an issue for this on the Budgie tracker; feel free to add any missing information.
brent EbonJaeger let me go to SHow Your Solus and see that last pic I ever posted. can't imagine anything changed but will look. In the meantime should I dust off panel reset command? or hang loose on arch? thanks Ebon EDIT last Show Your Solus I showed my Solus on 9/12 -- just as I described looked no different
Original-Syn brent Yeah meant applets. Every DE calls them something different, lol. Anyway, good luck. Hopefully the reset works and it is not something else.
