Heya folks! It's sync day, and that means it's time for the weekly Solus roundup! We're doing an early sync this week so we can have more time in Unstable to test systemd, Plasma 6.5.1, and GNOME 49. There will be no sync this Friday, Oct 31!
As this was a short cycle, there isn't a lot to cover. The biggest item is that the last remaining Python 2 packages have been deprecated from the repository! We've also updated the python3 binary to symlink to python. No more wondering why there's suddenly syntax errors in your Python code! We've been working on this task for many years, and we're all very happy to finally see it done. Python 2 is dead, long live Python 3!
TigerVNC has been updated to 1.15.0, from 1.13.1. This upgrade also includes an update to the bundled xorg-server, which has several security fixes. For more details on these updates, visit here and here. If anyone uses TigerVNC and would like to help us out, our Help Center article is terribly out-of-date, and does not work. No one on the team currently uses this program, so we don't know how the article should be updated. If you would like to update this page, please let us know! Thank you.
