EbonJaeger If you are updating to Polaris, make sure to check for updates again after the transition. We've just done another sync to update brandings and pins for the software centers, as well as deprecating all remaining Python 2 packages.
Kiess Had to unpin SSC (farewell) and put Discover on the task bar but other that that it went smoothly
brent Dudel https://help.getsol.us/docs/user/software/third-party/ not sure this is all-inclusive ^. plus gnome software and discover handle that now? or do they?
Harvey We have tried to warn people that third party is being deprecated since 14th September 2017. It is going away. Use flatpaks, appimages or make other arrangements.
brent Dudel Discover doesn't, at least it doesn't show it in the list ... but it also doesn't show Brave, so maybe that is an other issue. then Harvey is right and it's all farmed out now to flat/appimage. *I think Microsoft TT fonts being the exception for now
Dudel Original-Syn I think I was confused because not all Browsers are handled in the same way (like Vivaldi is shown twice for Solus / Flatpak).
Harvey Yes that was why I created fonts-installer (in the repo) to handle it. It was the biggest blocker for some reason.
brent Harvey Yes that was why I created fonts-installer (in the repo) t ok didn't know if that was official yet. I remember when you created it and was very happy. When I bare-metal 4.8 I will need those fonts. Graci!
Harvey Dudel That is a bug. I believe that if the flatpak and Solus repo version have different metainfo.xml for a given package the software center thinks they are unique packages and will show duplicates instead of 1 package with two different ways to install it.
Lucien_Lachance all good here, everything seems to have worked as intended congrats to the team on reaching these milestones
