Xoph Also I had to look up Cool Retro Term. That is crazy cool. Reminds me of a monitor my dad had when I was a kid and yeah totally Fallout vibes.

I love it. You can push the blur up, the cathode tube pulsing, the burn out, etc etc all horror of 70s/80s computing at you fingertips. like @Original-Syn said, it can't be used for a lot of tasks or for an extended amt of time.

Xoph I have also been using the local cache setting in config and man that makes it fast.

thanks for mentioning this. It's a good review btw...although many things re: eopkg I will always do in terminal, this is still as close to a native SC and that makes me happy.

I get that. I did start using sudo solseek up vs sudo eopkg up just for the small enhancements and the fact it also updates flatpaks if needed.

AlphaElwedritsch It is going to start slowing down quite a bit as I finalize the base for a true 1.x release. This just started in late October, so not only 2 months old. Then it should go more into stable mode to work on some of the extras and patching as needed. I think with this menu it is set as is the majority of options.

I need to slow down a bit as I don't want to add work to the Solus team as well. While I package it myself, they still have to review it every time.

Just a Update.
I put a dekstop Icon just for solseek just so I would use it..lol (Couldnt get it to work on crystal dock)
Myself I can use terminal and terminal programs but never been a big fan of them.
But I got to say I like using Solseek the more I use it the more comfortable I am with it
The basic layout seem very usable and I think it will be easy for most people to pick up on.
Mostly been searching and doing flatpak updates but all have worked well.
And just checking it out

Some of the info you are providing is top notch and goes into my linux file..

For me at this point it does 99.9% of what I need to do but I am sure their are future additions

I like the views on eopkg and flatpak showing whats going to be update.

I know eopkg has a history that we can see what was updated But is their a flatpak command along that line that could be added? ( if their was did I overlook it)
Just like to know in case issues arise with an update.

Axios there is a history for flatpak as well. However there is a bug due to permissions on Solus, which the team is aware of. It requires sudo which it shouldn't. So I can't use it right now. However you can outside the tool for now with sudo flatpak history.

Once it is fixed on Solus to run without it will be added to the tool

This is just a heads up, not related to the other Solseek / Solus stuff.

With it being the holiday season, and having my kids home from college, I do not expect to have another release probably for a few weeks. It is in a pretty solid place and I don't want to try and add stuff with everything going on around the house and family vacation that we have planned for the 1st week of January. Just seems like a good way to upset my wife 😉 and make mistakes that cause issues.

So I wish everyone a happy holidays and new years!

Xoph Nothing wrong with having excitement.
A lot of time we tend to look at the individual picture and sometimes the group picture
gets in the way and thumps us on the head. (Depending o what you are talking about)

Its a hard road to visualize sometimes but in the end a good conversation usually puts things in
perspective. (at least for me)
