I get same issue with with Plasma Updated flatpak with Solseek the other day it worked fine

Axios The discombobliating is static as I cannot change. It is just a header while it loads the updates.

The narrow Flatpak list was a bug do to a typo, which I have fixed. I do a command to limit the text and wrap it at 70 to avoid hard word-splitting wraps. Somehow I manage to leave a 0 off that one, so it is trying to wrap at

Version 0.8.0 has been released and pushed to Unstable.
I will write up a proper release announcement later to go over the changes, but you can view the changelog for now.

One change that could be contentious is that I did make a menu change based on the results of the survey. HOWEVER I decided because it was so close I would make it an option to use the expanded menu, previous menu, or hybrid/compact menu.
The new, compact menu is defuault, but you can easily set to use the previous expanded menu by setting SS_MAINMENU=2 and back to 1 if you like the new menu. Example...

The other thing is that in the desktop app list, you can now filter to show only Packages (alt-P) or only Flatpack (alt-F)

brent Yep both the compact and expanded menu has the category/grouping for Desktop Apps. It works quite well in my testing.

what if a person was searching for a new terminal emulator? how would one search--with the word terminal? or start with 'utility'?

brent Terminals are generally in System, but can be in Utility as well (freedesktop is what manages this not me or Solus).

So you would go into Desktop Apps -> System or Utility.
In the screenshot below, you will see a [P] at the front, that is there because I hit ALT+P to filter eopkg packages only. I could have left it with nothing and it would show both Flatpak and eopkg packages that match the search.

Mini review of 0.8.0

Love the new main menu. It is much easier on my brain and more clean. I like that I can still access the Desktop Apps categories. Would love to see an "All" category, but I am guessing it may take a few seconds to load with the amount of apps. May be worth it though.

This filtering between flatpak and packages is easy with the alt f and p options in the category list of apps is fire. Truly makes this more comparable to what we see in the GUI software stores.

The ability to edit my configuration from within the tools is very nice. I can now try some different things.

Themes are cool. Would love to see the ability to add custom themes in our local config folder.

Ability to enable the update check service in the tool is also amazing. I enabled it and it notified me of updates without Solseek running. That is perfect. I have turned off notifications in Discover and use this exclusively on my test box. Eventually will likely uninstall Discover as I have not touched it since I started using Solseek. Just had it for the notifications.

I have also been using the local cache setting in config and man that makes it fast. I have noticed nothing missing when I compare to the setup on my main system where I do not have it turned on and I have done a lot of testing.

For fun I also tried out the French and Polish language. Looks cool. Have no idea if it is accurate, lol, but it looks cool and loads.

Overall while there are things some people may miss from the GUI apps, like pictures/screenshots, it really is becoming a 1-1 type system in many regards.

Also I had to look up Cool Retro Term. That is crazy cool. Reminds me of a monitor my dad had when I was a kid and yeah totally Fallout vibes.

LOL, love Cool Retro Term. Totally impractical to use as your main terminal, but it is fun. Plus as a reply on my social post said, gives some Fallout vibes.

I love it. You can push the blur up, the cathode tube pulsing, the burn out, etc etc all horror of 70s/80s computing at you fingertips. like @Original-Syn said, it can't be used for a lot of tasks or for an extended amt of time.

thanks for mentioning this. It's a good review btw...although many things re: eopkg I will always do in terminal, this is still as close to a native SC and that makes me happy.
