I have a tiny suggestion, for devs' consideration.
Will it be possible for devs to keep the single >512MB linux-firmware package inside the getsol.us/shannon folder so that users have the option of wget'ting the entire linux-firmware, then sudo mv
, and then performing the usual upgrade command?
This is so that Solus users can skip the linux-firmware installation time of 10-15 minutes, assuming they downloaded the firmware which has been split into smaller chunks.
These users who do the "wget -> sudo mv -> sudo eopkg up" will also see less errors on Terminal when they install the linux-firmware, which may also lead to less forum posts on such related issues.
For your kind consideration please, thank you.
