Citfta If you get a Pixel be sure it is not from Verizon. My daughter gave me her old Pixel 6 when Verizon updated her plan and gave her a new Pixel. When I tried to upgrade to a new ungoogled rom I found out that somehow Verizon has the phones they sell locked so they can not be rommed to a different OS. I did a lot of research online and could not find any way to bypass that. The phone is unlocked as far as the carrier you can use but not unlocked to allow the OS to be changed.
If anyone has found a way to change the OS on a Pixel from Verizon I would certainly be interested in that.
thank you for that. I did my homework--I hope. I can buy a used, unlocked, verizon Pixel with de-googled software installed on it. This is a bigger seller niche than you might think. And affordable
Also I went into the field, on foot, and researched. I went physically into two Verizon brick and mortar stores in two different states and got basically the same story.
An unlocked Verizon phone with the de-googled installed is fine. They can work with this re: your phone plans. The two 'techs' differed on one point: one said the phone is ready to go after verizon does the switcheroo, and the other said it would definitely need a new Esim card.
" The phone is unlocked as far as the carrier you can use but not unlocked to allow the OS to be changed."
Unless you change the OS first 🙂
I hope.
