same as you mostly. because of it's tiny market share, flip phones are increasingly being built crappier and crappier and crappier in terms of quality--and I'm getting sick of it. I want a smartphone, like you, to use as a dumbphone, and without all the dumbphone's annoying hassle and quirks and idiosyncrasies of the hardware and software variety.
unlike you, I don't think I'd be opposed to an app or two i.e. relating to public transit for instance. like you I have no desire at all to surf the internet or use maps, etc.
I want a Pixel and I am seeing them reasonable. You did, near the top of this thread once declare it 'anti-intuitive' or something to use something you are trying to get away from, but the computer science peer review, astoundingly, finds it the securest of the heap. I know. Makes no sense. Fairphones I still don't see in my budget yet.
