I'm at the final stages of transitioning from a dilapidated desktop to one I'm modifying myself. With the SSD, the 16GB the new one has is snappy and I don't have money to burn but Im lookiing into fresh memory.
UDIMM: unregistered memory, faster than DIMM, prone to misadventure, CHEAP
DIMM: stable, registered, slower, LESS CHEAP
Most of the kits I am seeing are UDIMM. Lenovo recs DIMM so would stay with that, but it's pricier.
QUESTION: no one needs UDIMM but gamers, right? Or people with home theater?
It likely would not even be noticeable whatever I got? Or matter? Or could UDIMM go rogue?
memory the last hurdle (for my brain), and it's a 7-year lenovo so decisions get easier.
Thanks for any input.
also from my research: "Eventually, DIMMs generate more heat and are usually not suitable for home environments." I usually get with what manufacturer recommends (DIMM) but interesting. (EDIT)
