Long term support for Solus

Staudey So what is your point in all of this? If I'm going to monetarily support Solus. Then I'd simply like to know that I can use it as a daily driver and not worry that a year or two from now, it's going to completely shut down again.

Clearly we disagree on the subject of responsibility. That's okay. You have your opinion and I have mine. But I won't support a project if it's just going to die out. That's a headache I'm not willing to deal with. I'm not portraying Ikey as some evil person. There is a pattern of behavior though and that's a genuine concern. If you don't agree with me, that's okay

Half the arguments here could have been avoided by simply saying " hey, this project isn't going anywhere, here's why" but instead we have this

I'm not going to repeat my point a third time. But this is getting somewhat off-topic anyway.

Harvey already answered the initial question, so this thread is resolved, I think? Or is there anything else?

We have procedures in place to onboard and offboard maintainers and administrators.
- In fact, we offboarded a now former project administrator this past week at their request, with absolutely no drama (they are still around in the staff chat).
We have redundancy of >= 3 people (typically 5) for all organisation critical tasks and roles.
Our tooling works.
Our infrastructure, processes and documentation are all better than they have ever been.
We are cash flow positive each month and have a healthy balance.
Our roadmap for the remaining tooling upgrades is well understood and we're continuously delivering on it.
- As it happens, as of this writing, we have a set of PRs in testing that touches the entire build pipeline on the client side of the equation.
If push comes to shove and the Serpent tooling is significantly delayed, Solus will have no problem continuing to run indefinitely on its current foundation.

As the Serpent tooling comes online (something I and several others in Solus are helping drive forward), Solus will switch to it when it has hit all its own milestones for being able to do so.

In summary, your concerns are -- from a Solus organisational perspective at least -- entirely unfounded, as we have everything well in hand, as outlined above.

I have seen the before and after the direction Solus is going is the right one.
Also some of the things they do at the gracious of there heart and I welcome those things
So After this has concluded I think the thread and or the others Locked as it brings up
worry that is not needed. (Just my opinion)
I have come to the point that I feel like I can rely on linux for an operating system and it was due
to Solus and how they handled themselves through the previous crises and Have only seen it get better
(I have no worries)
Note: I have not turned on a windows machine in a year (new record for me)

Axios I think so too. Again, this question was not intended to be antagonistic. But I think my questions are valid at least. They were answered though, and there certainly isn't a need for anyone else to come in and scrutinize.
