Heya folks! We're here with more weekly updates!

This week, KDE Plasma was updated to 6.1.4. This is a bugfix update, and should be pretty uneventful. Fixes include:

  • DrKonqi: Use frameworks version number from kcrash.
  • KWin: Fix sticky keys for AltGr.
  • kcms/access: Set range for visual bell duration selector.

The full changelog can be found here.

Firefox was updated to 129.0. This release features multiple enhancements to the Reader View. HTTPS has also replaced HTTP as the default protocol in the address bar, and HTTPS DNS records can now be resolved with the operating system's DNS resolver. The full release announcement can be read here.

The package g4music has been renamed to gapless. This was done to match the upstream name.

Our Solus Cleanup Crew:tm: has been hard at work this week bringing the repository up to current standards:

Most of these tasks are beginner-friendly, and can be a great way to learn Solus packaging. We invite anyone that has the time and inclination to join us!

If you would like to join:

  1. Join Solus Packaging Room on Matrix
  2. Read and practice our packaging documentation
  3. Submit your first Pull Request. We recommend doing the homepage task
  4. Follow along the review process until your PR gets merged
  5. Continue on contributing!

That’s all for this week, folks! We'll be here same time, same place next week for another roundup of the news!

How did the sync go for you?

This poll has ended.

Update went well. Just curious, why is there an update for the linux headers to 6.10, but not the 6.10 kernel itself ?
    thx, carl

I've just processed 56 updates for Solus (692.41 MiB) and there's nothing special to report so far.

Except this: as usual, @EbonJaeger provides us with a link at the end of his report listing the full list of updated packages; on examining it, I see, for example, that Firefox has been updated to version 128.0.3-329; however, this Solus update took Firefox to version 129, so, does this link point to the latest Solus update?

penny-farthing does this link point to the latest Solus update?

It does now. Sorry about that; I don't know how that happened.

For anyone that still has audio issue, after last week update (Week 31), please add your comment on this github issue. The comment should contain at least : your hardware specs (inxi -b) and whether or not rolling back to previous kernel, pipewire, sof-firmware or other package helps. Cheers!

I'm on vacation right now and have to skip two sync updates.

        last sync: week30
        next possible sync: week33

let's see what happens and hope everything goes well.

        I'm on KDE

I still encountered some issues that I've already described many times, and as usual, was able to resolve them myself. The worst was Bluetooth, which not only was disableded after the reboot (as usual), but my mouse and keyboard needed to be "forgotten," and then paired again before I could get them to connect this time. So, it seems that something has changed, but obviously not enough yet.

        EbonJaeger unstickied the discussion .
