This is the issue. I simply changed the Whisker shortcut to Win + Space, then issue solved. I can use other combination without issue

I have not used XFCE since I filed this bug 5 days ago. that's when I threw in the towel. https://github.com/getsolus/packages/issues/1566.

could you replicate this plank thing in xfce? I can never tell if 'bugs' are on my end or the DE end of this beta. no hurry and thanks for any time taken.

No white line when I move the plank to the left or right side, but there's a strange darkly shaded line that shows up next to the plank. Perhaps this screenshot will show that.

I didn't move the plank to the top, 'cause that's where the panel is. And what appears to be a white line is simply the shoreline in the lake.

Axios I'm not going into XFCE anytime soon and I can't find this in budgie system settings. or dconf-editor or menu or gnome-control-center. I'm sure I'm looking in the wrong place.

my big problem in XFCE is it forces me to change refresh rate to use anything with success (I have other bugs filed about this) and I forget to experiment with refresh rate with plank/xfce, maybe next time. I went from In Love to Bitter with this Beta🙂

WetGeek yeah.....those look identical to my pictures. "white line" was just my verbiage, accurate of not. ok so so happy that's not me. most of my xfce problems resolve when I'm forced to use the bottom setting of refresh rate (60) but I forgot to try it with this.

Now that I knew what to look for, I noticed it was present when the dock was on the bottom, too, but just lost as part of the background picture.

Ya we know what it is just not sure how solus xfce does stuff I didnt run it long enuf.

Looks like I beat you to it.

Indeed, it's available in solus. Just launch the GUI settings manager, and you'll see it right away. No need to install anything. And I can confirm that it works like a charm.

Indeed. You can toggle it on and off using that "Show shadows under dock windows" setting. Lotsa fun!

Look forward to using XFCE again.
(I wish I didn't need Plank and could live with the panel but I couldn't make it as uniform and neat as Budgie's and/or lost patience. Plank and XFCE seem a good fit.)

For sure. Given Xfce's lack of an icon-only task manager applet for the panel, the Plank dock takes on a lot more importance. It took me less than a day to decide to implement it once I began configuring Xfce.

If we could just make some progress on the issue that's keeping Xfce from using Bluetooth keyboards, I'd use it as a daily driver for an extended time. That's the best way to learn the DE and its capabilities well, and I've developed a strong appreciation for Solus' Xfce implementation.

Note I know it was prob set as a default but I found compositors can do some strange things and its hard to
Understand some of them at least for me at times.
So I made it a point if it works dont mess with it..

brent Plank and XFCE seem a good fit.

Today I found out a neat function of Plank by accident. I was intending to increase the size of the text in Terminology on a Budgie VM using CTRL+(mousewheel), but my mouse pointer happened to be on the Plank at the bottom of that screen. Instead of the terminal text becoming larger, the Plank and its launcher icons did. So I scrolled up and down a bit, and the Plank enlarged and shrunk accordingly.

I moved the mouse pointer away from the Plank, and I was once more able to adjust Terminology's font size.

I believe it, me too some nights. Compositors are strange things I agree. at least maybe when it's not Beta they will fix stuff like that. I hope we are doing some good!
