hello guys, I think you should finally replace the LTS kernel 5.15 with a newer version of the LTS kernel 6.1.63 in the software center

There is a talk of on matrix that linux-current will stay on 6.6 (when it lands) untill late in 6.7 release cycle, so 6.6 will become linux-lts on Solus. Cheers!
Disclaimer: not staff, so take my word with grain of salt (a lot of it).

Yes, 6.6 is currently planned to be the next LTS kernel. That change should happen sometime January-February of next year.

What are the user's options should the new LTS kernel introduce a regression? Is the old kernel still there to fall back on, or does it get overwritten?

laurker Your system will keep the previous kernel around for a while for you to continue to boot into. Eventually though it'll get cleaned up, it's highly advised that you let us know about such regressions so we can track them and make sure they're fixed.

I will note though that we're going to transition our build for the current kernel to the LTS, so there will be a multi-week period where we will have a big "LTS users please test the current kernel to make sure it works for you" announcement on the forum (probably also a blog post) where we will hope that LTS users will chime in with any issues.
