Solus not boot after update

Hi all,
yesterday I experienced a problem with Firefox and after searching on internet I tried installing the package: xdg-desktop-portal-gtk
Together with that, the entire system was updated Solus. At the end of the update process I wanted to shutdown the system... the shutdown button was not working, but using ctrl+alt+canc I managed to turn off the PC.

Today, when I tried to start the PC, Solus not boot at all. It stuck on the ASUS boot screen.

I have a dual boot with Windows, a UEFI boot and an Nvidia graphic card. From the UEFI boot menu I can successfully start Windows, but Solus not start at all.

Any help? I don't know how I can rollback from this situation.

I'm writing from a live USB linux distro.

When was the last time you updated your system before that? It kinda sounds like A LOT of updates were queued up, and the safety catch forced at least a part of those to be updated, but apparently it missed something vital.

Can you reach a terminal interface by pressing CTRL+ALT+F3 when you boot Solus (I assume you mean a black screen or similar when you say "not start at all")

I don't know what happens, but when I rebooted from the live USB distro, just after the termination process and before the reboot) I ended up in the linux boot manager. From there I selected Solus and at least I reached the solus terminal. I re-run the update and after that everything works again.

Yes, it was I while since I updated Solus. Maybe that was part of the problem.

sometimes it's not always ctrl+alt+f3
sometimes f1
sometimes f2
I've seen f7 in an old thinkcentre I had. have to exhaust your options.

stuck at manufacturer screen means...man..maybe a few things. you destroyed boot loader. or operating sys not even seen. or windows had some malevolent hand in this. all of these are likely. or something fixed in bios.

in that help section I sent you are fairly good chroot instruction to boot into live disk. search for 'boot rescue.'
you mount and update and fix boot and check broken packages all in one. sometimes I have to back up to make sure I get the steps correct.

also...if this was me...get a jump drive, boot into windows, salvage all the files you want and do a fresh install. to get your solus to where you had it should take a couple hours. I used to hate doing that but now I don;t,

after having been in your shoes a few times I decided to NEVER put solus and windows on the same disk. I have had no problems like this again. Like Staudey said, hard to think the last update did this. unless you just had a backlog of updates.
