Can't activate Scanner EPSON PERFECTION V200 PHOTO

Hello,
I have now installed "vuescan".
But following message:

VueScan found Epson Perfection V200, but no plugin for this scanner was found on your system. 
Make sure you have downloaded the iscan scanner driver for this scanner from http://download.ebz.epson.net/dsc/search/01/search/ .

I can't download the iscan scanner driver from this Link.
Only *.deb or *.rpm is on this Link.
How can I install this *.deb or *.rpm in my Solus System?

edit: typo. also this might take 2-3 times beforeepsonscan2 sees scanner. sometimes I use gscan2pdf (which I hate using but always sees it) to see it first, then launch epsonscan2. sometimes the 'tunnel' as it where needs a fire lit under it.

brent Interesting fix the driver for that isnt provided in the normal Sane setup

Axios the plug in and the driver aren't found in sane or anywhere else I know. In the Olde Days I had to crack that .deb open and move/copy stuff to specific solus folders then symlink them (you remember that) a colossal insane method...and I had a linux pea-brain then.
...epson did get wind of this linux method and did not ship anymore .debs with that plug in. Utsushi doesn't work wthout that plugin.

What Epson did do right is create Epsonscan2 because they couldn't fight the future which to me is a huge non-DEB non-RPM linux niche...AFAIK epsonscan2 not a miracle cure for all scanners but is good for the popular perfection flatbeds like I and op got.

Hanisch you don't need to do this (ifconfig btw I think(, just open and keep trying til it sees your scanner. It will.

Why do you compile when iscan is in the repo?

Ok., iscan is installed from Repo. But my EPSON Scanner don't work because a Plugin is missing.

It is possible to install the "iscan-gt-f670-bundle-2.30.4.x64.deb.tar.gz/iscan-gt-f670-bundle-2.30.4.x64.deb" or
"iscan-gt-f670-bundle-2.30.4.x64.rpm.tar.gz/iscan-gt-f670-bundle-2.30.4.x64.rpm" in Solus?

You can download the deb package. Unpack -> Go to plugins directory -> unpack iscan-plugin-gt-f670_2.1.3-1_amd64.deb -> unpack data.tar.gz -> Move the files to the appropriate places in the system.

pomon some have to be mv'd and some have to be cp'd and symlinked. it's an adventure🙂

If you dont have this it wont ever work /usr/lib/sane/libsane-epkowa.so.1
if its not something is wrong. (if you do you prob need to configure some stuff what I dont know)

You can do search on web and find lots of info on the subject.
The epkowa driver is what is needed for it to work. (it appears not to be provided in the normal linux Packages)
I have sane etc installed and its not in my sane directory (think we already knew that tho)

I dont know if this page would be of any help you would have to download the tgz file for your scanner

@Hanisch ok in the epsonscan2 list of supported is:

not a V200 to be found. still I wonder if it would work? it's just an easy install and remove.
but your homework has been better than mine---SORRY for all the bum steers.
at EPSON for your V200 they DO DO DO rec the Iscan package...and offer it not only DEB/RPM but SOURCE:

se the install.sh? worth a try. it's distro-agnostic and I've muscled in brother stuff this way although not my preferred method...

i gotta get up early tomorrow or I'd search engine 'v200 linux perfection' stories.
I'm not sold you need the plugin/right folders/move/copy nightmare yet. it's so barbaric and 2019...but all you can do is try.

Strange, because in PKGBUILD Arch and in Gentoo they use the deb or rpm package, unpacking and moving or copying directories and files. PKGBUILD example. I didn't see any sources to compile.

PS. Try to install libinsane. And what does sane-find-scanner and scanimage -L show?
