bigrammy I use masterpdf editor on linux all the time (for years) it scans to pdf and edits.(I really dont edit pdfs tho mostly viewing and scanning)
The linux version is Free.
Just download it unzip put it where you want and make your links. (nuttin to it)

There is a flatpak of Master PDF Editor.

I would note that it is not FOSS.

I just download from their site then I can always be current. (not hard to update but its preferences)
But is interesting there is a flatpak
Like now I checked need to update will do later.
ACK am still on ver 5.8 about 11 or 12 updates behind..lol dont use this computer much.

For those who are old school & don't mind doing things via the command line then qpdf is already included/part of Solus.
I remember using it to create & password protect some pdf's containing my ID documents that I needed to send via email once. 😿
Once I had worked out the correct cmd's it worked great. 😕
It really is good & with all info and usage is here.
https://qpdf.readthedocs.io
& some pdf page split examples among others here.

The new pdf features in OnlyOffice look good, but are limited to basic annotation and form filling

The easiest way I've found to actually PDF text on linux is to open it with LibreOffice Draw, do the edits, then re-export as a PDF.
Sometimes formatting and text styles are changed by this method.

davidjharder it's amazing Draw would function like Illustrator of photoshop. I can't see it converting it to raw postscript like those two, but it obviously converts it to some fluid form. far out.

One thing that annoys and "cripples" me in linux is that there is no scroll wheel- click autoscroll available in pdf readers. I wish someone made that.
