hello, someone reboot my computer while I was updating it through SSH and it won't boot anymore.

It shows up a glitchy screen and I can't SSH to it any more.

It uses EFI. Pressing space I can see many boot options but none of them work.

I can't find in the doc how can I boot to command line only. It seems the boot interface use shortcuts that I don't know (like d to change the default, not helpful !). I can't find much there : boot-management or boot-rescue... it seems you are supposed to boot your computer in a first place. then I should use another distro live USB ? I've been searching for 15 min but could not find a way to boot to command line...

help would be much appreciated here !

  • It sounds like you'll want to follow the steps here with a Solus live USB to apply and fix updates.

kro I can't find in the doc how can I boot to command line only

    CTRL ALT F2

thanks for your answer. however it doesn't work. typing this during the boot won't do anything. neither after it freezes displaying a glitchy image. is there a way to boot directly in console mode ? maybe during boot-management when I can select the linux kernel I want to boot on ?

... or a documentation on how to use a third part USB live system, to chroot in the installed system to recover a good behaviour, using eopkg commands e.g. ?

It sounds like you'll want to follow the steps here with a Solus live USB to apply and fix updates.

Did you allow them to live?

Thank you ! This is exactly what I needed.
I could fix my computer with the aid of eopkg check.

WetGeek Did you allow them to live?

That would be the opposite, they allow me to live ? (it was my parents computer to be fair 😉)

I'm reconciled with Solus, thank you all !
