Steam Dualsense controller support

So after spending hours troubleshooting why my controller would not work properly, i think i've found a solution and would like to know if this is

safe to use
intended behaviour (as it is not very user friendly)

when using steams built-in controller support, controller input was not being passed onto any games i tried. weirdly, it would still work in steam menus, in games that fully support steam input and when the button was set to a keyboard key. it WOULDN'T work when set to any controller key.

The command i used to get it working properly is "sudo modprobe uinput" and i have to do this every time i restart my pc

tom73287428764 What DE are you using and are you using X11 or Wayland?

Does installing this package help? Restart after you install it:

sudo eopkg it https://cdn.getsol.us/repo/unstable/libe/libevdev/libevdev-1.13.1-14-1-x86_64.eopkg

If that doesn't help can I get the output of the following command?

eopkg li | grep xorg | sort

ReillyBrogan I'm using X11 + Budgie.
I installed that package and rebooted but controller inputs weren't going through to the game until i used the "sudo modprobe uinput".

This is after i did the modprobe command though (not sure if that matters)

Also, another thing i noticed is that the steam-devices package isn't included on solus but is on most other distros.
EDIT: I should also mention that i have steam linux integration disabled.

tom73287428764 Yes, but you can see the packages that are removed and then reinstall them after testing.

ReillyBrogan It didn't help unfortunately. I still have to run the "sudo modprobe uinput" command to get my controller to work properly

Also, another thing i noticed is that the steam-devices package isn't included on solus but is on most other distros.

This is because the files shipped by that package are just shipped in our Steam package, so you already have them.

How do you have the controller connected? Bluetooth?

ReillyBrogan it's connected via a usb c cable
Edit: I forgot to mention but with every one of those commands i got the following:
[✗] Updating systemd tmpfiles failed

It still seemed to have gone through though
